Viewing Music Widget Issue

Music Widget Issue

User: Robert D. 12 years ago
Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me here.

I am needing to place some audio on a web page I have set up with Everweb.

I have used the built in audio widget. The only option the widget gives me is to add an mp3 file, which I do from my laptop.

When I choose 'preview', nothing plays … which I understand as the audio is still on my laptop.

My question is which folder should the audio go into once I publish my site ? I've tried placing the audio into ew_js, ewExternalFiles, ew_css, but none of them help. The audio player shows up, but is blank and have a timing setting of 0:00.

I am using mp3 files as specified in the widget and I don't have any spaces in my file names.

I look forward to a reply and many thanks in advance.

Hi Robert,

Which browser are you previewing your website in?

You don't have to place or move anything after publishing. In fact if you do that, you will mess things up.

I suggest you either upload the published folder to a server or let me know which browser you are previewing in. Sometimes the audio file won't play in FireFox while previewing but will play once published.

Hi Paul

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I'm using Safari and Firefox to preview.

I've seen on another post in the forum that someone has been able to preview their audio, but I can't even do this.

When I publish the site there are no audio files in the folders anywhere which totally confuses me !

I know Safari blocks the flash plugin for power saving, but I have changed the setting to always allow flash.

Really like Everweb btw - If I can get the audio issue resolved it would be great.

Paul - I've got it sorted. As is usual in this case it was something very simple - I had brackets in the name title !

It all works now. I love Ever Web :)

Thanks

Robert
