text edited in group is not updated when published

| I have a graphic box on top of which is an image and a text box. They are all grouped together. If I edit the text, it appears correctly edited in EW but, after publishing, has not changed when viewed in browser. I have to ungroup the components, edit the text, save the file and then group again before publishing - then it works. | |

HI, I just tried this. I grouped two objects together, edited the text of one and then published. It appeared work fine. A screen recording of what you are doing would be very helpful. You can record your screen using Quicktime which is in your Applications folder. Open Quicktime and select 'New Screen Recording' from the File menu. Once you are done, your recording will be on your desktop. Thanks Paul - I may have wasted your time. On trying to reproduce the problem, I can't! I think what I may have done is make an edit in the grouped text box and then publish without having clicked outside the box - although the text was edited, EW didn't recognise a change to publish so, although the text LOOKED adjusted, it hadn't been committed to file. My unlinking of the boxes etc did, of course solve the 'problem' as I would have clicked out side the box to perform the link/unlink. I now understand that alterations to text are not committed until the cursor is out of the box thanks again for your swift response. I just published the site live and, so far, all is working (www.madebygrandad.co.uk). |
