Animated gif drag and drop easy work around

Tried to drag and drop an animated gif into Everweb without much success.
Found a way, by dragging the image slider widget onto your page.
In the widget settings pane select the animated gif you want (only one) using the "Choose" button
I used a transparent background animated gif.
Resize and change the background colour to suit, click off the show thumbnails button, the auto play slideshow button, the show navigation arrows button and the image counter button.
You can click off the Click to enlarge image button if you wish.
Resize to suit.
Publish and the animated gif moves, checked it in chrome ,Safari and Firefox

EW insets images as the background of a div so dragging a GIF onto the page won't work.

Use an img tag in an HTML Snippet…

Doing it this way will also allow you to add Alt Text for SEO and Title info in the tooltip.

Thanks Roddy, Had a look at your website, wow loads of very useful Widgets.
You are way ahead of me, so some of your post got lost in my understanding.
My method for animated gifs seems to work for the more unskilled of us.
It will be interesting to see how EW develops over the next year. iWeb although still functioning is really limping into obscurity.

You can use this widget to insert the GIF if you don't want to use code…

The first Widget on this page allows you to add a caption too…

It works if only EW would keep the animation. But it removes it when you drop the image on the canvas.

Animated gifs work as a background image :

Here's some info about inserting animated GIFs and examples of how two of the widgets can be used to achieve this while avoiding the pain of having to deal with code…
