1. If I decide to use a font that's neither web safe nor a Google font, do I need to save it as an image, realizing that it cannot be read by search engines? 2. If I put a bunch of Youtube videos on a page, is there a point at which they slow things down too much when someone opens the page? [p.s. Quote: [p.s. When I posted this, for some reason I didn't see the title listed...] Did you enter a title in the box? Since YouTube movies download with the webpage, you should never use more than one per page on a conventional site and NEVER use them at all on the mobile version. Website movies should be set to prevent preload and show a poster image instead since there's no point in wasting time downloading the movie if the visitor is not going to play it. This is explained here under "Preload & Splash… http://everwebcodebox.com/widgets/mp4-video.html It is possible to prevent YouTube downloading along with the web page and to show a poster image instead. I created a widget for this but wasn't happy with its performance. I have since found a better way but haven't actually created the widget. If you contact me I'll send you a copy to try when I get time to do it. Using the widget you will be able to insert more than one YouTube per page and even use it on a mobile site. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | Thanks for info on Youtube videos—that'll save me some headaches down the road. As for the title in the box, I entered it and saved it several times but for some reason it didn't take. | |
