Shortcuts

Where could I learn about using shortcuts? Are they in the tutorials somewhere? Couldn't find it but know that people are using them...:)

Can you explain what you mean by shortcuts?

Well, somebody was talking about shortcuts you assigned to certain commands - like "Group" and "Lock". How do they know what these shortcuts are?

They were referring to the menu keyboard command shortcuts. You can see them by clicking the menu bar.

If you are using OS X 10.7 or above, try the freeware app CheatSheet.

Hold down the Command key while in any app and the popup will reveal the short cuts.

Thank you, I just figured it out...How silly of me. By the way, I still get an email about reply to my post only occasionally - I got one after the first reply Paul but not the rest... So I noticed it only by accident...

Hey Yelena

Not sure I understand what you mean by "How do they know what these shortcuts are?"

The shortcuts that are natively assigned are shown to you when you click on one of the menu bar choices at the to of your app. window.
"command P" is print... They're are standard keyboard shortcuts that pretty much apply to all programs, but some developers change them up sometimes… You can also assign your own keyboard shortcuts in preferences with OS10
