Problem putting shapes / graphics into header?

I am having a problem putting shapes / images into the header section of an EverWeb page. In iWeb, for example, one can put an image right at the top to give it a nice custom header appearance and I'm not seeing how to accomplish this in EverWeb. Example:![]() Is this a bug that needs to be resolved? ------------------------------- Custom application and web developer. Hold the command key as you drag the object or set it to allow free dragging under the metrics options in the Inspector.

That is excellent news. Now on iWeb I could drag shapes up beyond the edge of the canvas to be placed and then it would truncate these items on export or position it above the page. I assume that this is not yet possible? It sure makes it nice and quick to get straight edges on shapes that you want to blend as per above's screenshot (ie, you want the bottom rounded or some other design and the top to blend in with a border or such).

EverWeb works a bit different. The way iWeb did it made things less flexible with your design. You can uses the Masking tool to crop images the way you want in EverWeb though to get a similar effect.

Okay, that makes sense, however I'm not seeing a mask option for shapes such as rounded rectangles. I like that concept as it does indeed offer more control over irregularly shaped objects and images which indeed is ultimately more flexible. Hmm, hope I'm simply missing the mask function for shapes / objects.

Any additional input on this one @Paul re: masking shapes functionality?

@Paul you noted command-drag previously, which works fine for dragging, however can we also please have command-left and right arrows for moving items outside of bounds as well? Additionally, please allow this to also work with adding the shift key for 10px moves (ie, command-shift-left/right).

You can set objects to allow free drag from the metrics inspector to move them anywhere on your site. I can look into adding this. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
