Viewing Embedding Vimeo

Embedding Vimeo

User: Joy H. 10 years ago
I have seen several threads on this topic, but none that are definitive (or have worked). I want to include an embedded Vimeo video on my page. I tried using the embed language in an html snippet (as suggested by one thread), but only wind up with an invisible box on my page. I have seen threads about VeeTube, but can't find that widget anywhere.

Please, can someone tell me how to embed when it is not YouTube?

In case this helps, the site is www.voices-from-within.com and the embed language is:

Voices From Within from Ellie Walton on Vimeo.

Thanks!

Joy!

The video will show when you publish to your server.

If you want it to show all the time, in EverWeb, you will see it shows something like;

"//vimeo.com/

change it to;

http://vimeo.com/

The URL for your video is…

http://player.vimeo.com/video/23827059

The VeeTube widget isn't necessary. It is designed to allow YouTube, Vimeo, BlipTV etc to be embedded with a contrasting frame and border. You can find it HERE.

Thanks, Paul. You can indeed see it when published. And I added the http: and can now see it in EverWeb, too, which is a great help!

Roddy, I didn't realize that widget was just for frames/borders.

Thank you both!

P.S. It didn't occur to me that by including the embed language, it would embed the video as part of my question! Duh. I was just trying to show you the language. It had been a long day of putting together a pretty basic website but learning how to do it as I went along!

There is an ongoing problem with publishing code in the forum and the code entry feature is not working.

When publishing code, you need to replace the back /forward arrows with the appropriate HTML attribute. Otherwise you will get a blank space or, in your case, a video!

Anyway, you are getting good publicity having your video here!. If you want to get rid of it, edit your post and delete the actual code part.
