Initial Issues...

Just about an hour in.. and some issues: 1. placed an image on the page against a black page bkgrd, brought opacity down to 15% and when published… the image appears as if it is against a white page background. This is important as I am creating my own headers and don't want the image to fill the whole page. this image I want to use as the page background.. with greater flexibility (resizing to leave black background for page title). Or… allow us the option to have a tinted image page background (again like iWeb) 2. Text and some objects are slightly off their mark once published 3. I've created my own menu bar with Arial 12.0 and menu fonts look thin and and underfed compared to how they looked in iWeb (I'm copying a site over). However.. when published.. they show as intended (you can see in screenshots) 3. Is there an option to have multiple sites available in once instance of Everweb (like iWeb) It's good to have a "mothballed" or "holding tank" site (or folder) where you could park or move conceptual pages and duplicate pages freely in and out of the site you are working with. This would be great for testing ideas. I'll report further should other issues arise Last edit 12 years ago |

Here is the intended look... and the published. Notice how in the published.. "Brynda" now encroaches on the image and the hearts are shifted slightly up from intended position. As well.. the Arial font which looks weak in the pre-published image now renders properly when published.

| Ok guys... having a problem posting the images. I've attached two different images but they post as the same image. One is entitled "Intended" (pre-published), the other is "Published". I'll try it one more time and if not successful... please tell me where I can send them.. Thanks! | |

I don't see any of your images posted here. I'll need you to send me your website project file then so I can take a look. In the Projects window in EverWeb, right click on your website and select the 'Show On Disk' option. Please compress the project file before sending it to me by right clicking on it and selecting Compress. You can upload it at http://ge.tt or http://www.dropbox.com and send the link to me. Make sure to describe the problem you are experiencing when you send your email. You cannot have multiple sites opened in one window but you can open multiple websites in separate windows. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

I got the project file. In the version you have you need to use a PNG file if you are going to change the opacity of an image. In the next version of EverWeb it will properly convert a JPEG to a PNG file if you use the opacity setting. PNG's are required to display the image with transparency.

| Thanks Paul.. I did discover that when I worked around it by copying the processed image.. pasting in preview, saved out, and then brought back into EverWeb. It then published as desired. **My apologies for the multiple same posts.. don't know how that happened and couldn't find a delete post button. We really are happy that you've taken on all the abandoned iWeb users. | |
