The YouTube widget is not very well explained...![]() It implies that the URL to the video file should be inserted rather than just the ID. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Two different styles of URLs work, it's just the youtu.be that don't appear to work right now.

The widget inserts ... http://www.youtube.com/embed/ ... and this gets doubled up in the URL.... http://www.youtube.com/embed/http://www.youtube.com/embed/.... ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I'll see if we can update it to support the URL but if you just copy and paste the URL in the browser's path bar it will work.

I decided to make my own which requires the full URL. It can accommodate both Vimeo and YouTube and is called VeeTube. The video can be "as is" or have a frame and border with rounded corners like the widget for inserting images with alt and title attributes. The Widget inspector looks like this... ![]() See this topic for an example. @ Paul: I have emailed a copy inspection and critique. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! A couple of questions: 1. I've been going crazy trying to get a YouTube video into my site. Am I understanding correctly that this is not currently working in EverWeb? 2. Roddy, did you say you could put a YouTube video into your widget? When would that be available? |

The widget is designed to insert a Vimeo or YouTube movie using the full URL like... http://www.youtube.com/embed/1234wxyz ..and may be more straight forward to use. If you email me ASAP I will send you a copy to try out. I don't want to leave my email address in the forum and the PM feature is not working . Roddy's widget works great with EverWeb; however, it used to be so easy to embed a video into my previous software (IWeb). I would just copy the embed line, put it into the space as requested and abracadabra, the video showed up immediately. It seems to be a bit more complicated now because the embed line that YouTube gives contains a lot of extra commands that are not necessary. Roddy patiently worked with me until we got the line properly coded and the same results I used to get with IWeb occurred. Abracadabra, I had a YouTube video in my site. Thank you, Roddy for being so patient. |
