I think more users may embrace the concept of the EasyWeb gallery if there was an easy way for them to change the theme and the behavior. To allow the user to change the theme, the various theme images could be made available and the image paths changed in the stylesheet. I'm sure most users would be able to copy and paste the setup javascript into the footer code and make the necessary changes to implement their choice of theme, autoplay or manual and slide timing. The prettyPhoto controls are not the best in the world and you can see that, in my example, I got rid of them and the horrible social media buttons. I kept the default "Close" button for a couple of reasons but I really should change this out for something a little better looking and less evasive! The inclusion of the "Close" button will help out those that don't realise you can click in space to achieve the same result. While they are going for this button they will also be forced to mouse over and see that they can navigate using the thumbs - I hope! So now PrettyPhoto is your third party image gallery of choice? What happened to Shadowbox? We depend upon your referrals man! Are your loyalties split? ;)

PrettyPhoto certainly isn't my choice - it is the developers and I dare say they have their reasons. Shadowbox is much more versatile and the UI is far superior. It can also be used to launch a gallery/slider from one image which seems to be a requested feature. I'm just pointing out that PrettyPhoto does have a choice of themes and features but they haven't, as yet anyway, been implemented in EasyWeb. It still wouldn't be my choice but I don't get any say in the matter as I am just a user like yourself! EasyWeb also badly needs a standard slider/banner with the option of user control and autoplay and perhaps with/without thumbs. I have pointed out that my choice would be Cycle/tCycle or Galleria. Whatever choice is made, it needs to have a responsive option and the ability to add captions and hyperlinks - at least. My personal opinion is that, if EasyWeb is released without a first class gallery AND a banner/slider, its other great features will be devalued and that would be a pity. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I absolutely agree with this issue regarding the slideshow/banner! I think as a business man that EW released without these things will be an overall mistake at this time. I think the final release due out soon is far too premature and will send a message about EW that will certainly diminish it's great and obvious upcoming qualities,,,,,, But right now, it's just not ready yet. Also I think that the pricing scheme is non sensical. I would gladly support this type of program for what it can and will do in the future but something does not seem right regarding the pricing / server setup. It all seems to rushed from where I sit. I think the Beta should be continued so that the users can further weigh in and make this the NO:1 WYSIWYG out there! Finally the video issue is critical to the end user and EW has to take some tips from programs like Hype regarding video....... I think that incorporating your "Web Design Software" into EW so that users can better ultilize and see HTMl scripting would really be the best out there. Slow down, your sitting on a powder keg! |
