Mobile pages don't render correctly

User: Jim S. 5 years ago
I have spent the last two days trying to create mobile pages for a site I've been revising. The text boxes don't line up the way I have them set, and they look fine in preview. I spent all day yesterday moving a text box down little bit, publishing to be able to see how it renders, going back, adjusting more. Totally having to guess at where I put stuff. I thought it might have to do with a nav widget I had installed on Manster page, as that was showing the code and pushing images down the page. Removed that, and it still is not rendering correctly on phone. I'm viewing through Safari on two different phones, been emptying caches. Would love to know if somebody can tell me what's going on. I've sent the project to EW support. They're probably closed today. The site is:

Have you considered converting your site to responsive so that you only need one version of it?

I don't even know what that means. I will say that since I posted, I changed font from Calibri to Arial in mobile pages, and that seemed to take care of it. Now I'm just dealing with with the nav widget still seeming to create a space, pushing objects down. First time I published it was doing it on one page, others were OK. I re-published entire site, and that page cleared up. I just added the "contact mobile" page and it's doing it there. Trying to figure that out right now.

OK, watching about all that now. I've been ignoring my websites for a really long time and have just recently opened EW for for first time in long time. Getting my head back into this.

Hi Jim,

Regarding the textboxes issue, it could be a fonts problem where the font you are using is not available on iOS and a substitute is being used that is similar, but a little different.

If you could show a. screenshot of what you see in EverWeb and in preview and what you see in Safari on your iPhone that would be helpful.

I couldn't see anything wrong with your website when I looked now.

You can post screenshots using the Advanced tab right next to Post Reply on this forum.

The overall problem I was experiencing with text boxes not rendering correctly seemed to resolve when I switched from Calibri to Arial.

When I added the nav widget, it pushed objects down on some of the pages. This resovled with some of them after a bunch of re-pubishing, refreshing browsers, etc. I don't know what fixed it. But there's still on page it pushing down "Contact" on mobile www.rehabworks.net

Edit: Thought I attached screenshot. Not appearing.

OK, still messing with this issue of mobile page not rendering correctly. The issue appears to have something to do between the nav widget and a line I have placed at bottom of header on mobile master page. I have a separate Master mobile page for the Home page that doesn't have the line at bottom of header and don't seem to have problem with that page. I need that line for the subsequent pages.

I've gone back and forth with taking those objects out and replacing, sometimes it corrects itself , then does it again if I make a change. I currently have the Outside boundaries of the line set at minimal. It seems that the way I get it to correct itself is by removing the nav widget, publishing, then re-inserting the nav widget. Or sometimes removing the line. I had it all good yesterday; just made a text revision in the body of the text in the overview page, republished, and it pushed everything back down. (P.S. I'm trying to attach screen shot but not figuring out how to make it work. I'm attaching per instruction in advanced.) www.rehabworks.net mobile

You are using a very old navigation widget. If you think this is contributing to your problem, contact me and I will send you a more up to date version.

Got THIS page and click the envelope icon in the toolbar at the bottom right of the hero image.
