Problems importing and resizing assets

User: Christopher 10 years ago
If I import an image and drag it on the page, it always appears reduced in size. I personally don't like this but I understand it's easier for others to work with this way. So the first thing I do is go to Shape and click Original size. But then when I go to metrics to place the image, and set 0 for X, the photo reduces again in size. If I continue setting my Y, go back to Shapes and hit Original size, it enlarges and is now correctly placed. But surely, there is a bug in this method.

Drag the image in, set position (X = 0) first and then restore original size.

It would be a lot handier if the original size button was in Metrics where it should be!

Yeah, this is what I've been doing lately. Setting the metrics first, then hitting Original Size. Still... others might be inclined to hit Original Size first, like I did, and run into the same problem.

Incidentally, I do all my photo editing in Photoshop and am therefore always bringing pictures in at the correct size. So it's an extra step to have to click a button to have it sized correctly every single time. Do the majority prefer their images being reduced in size automatically?

I don't know. I prefer to create images with Pixelmator so they do have the size I need them for the website. I do prefer the way it was before, not having assets reduced in size when I add them.

This is how iWeb worked. Perhaps we can not reduce the size if the image is very large.

Please keep the option of reducing as it is now for those who are not as proficient ...:)
