"Duplicate without user-selected canonical" Message...

User: Steve 2 months ago
I sometimes get this message from google "Duplicate without user-selected canonical" and it looks like it's because I basically have a dupe of my site for mobile using Everweb to create the mobile pages, But it looks like because they are effectively dupes google doesn't like them. I think it only affects a couple pages, so I'm assuming that the rest are being indexed..

Any simple way to fix this or something to remember to do when I'm using EW?

thx
Steve

Hi Steve,

It seems you might have some duplicated pages, and Google is identifying them as duplicates, leading to the "Duplicate without user-selected canonical" issue.

Please review your EverWeb project file to ensure that you don't have duplicated pages unintentionally. If you find any duplicates, remove or modify them to avoid redundancy. After verifying and addressing any duplicated pages in your project file, go to "File > Publish Entire Site" in EverWeb. This action will publish your entire site, and the changes should reflect on your live website.

Once you've published the entire site, Google may take some time to re-crawl and re-index your website.

I don't have any duplicate pages but maybe the fact that the page although the file name is different xxx and xxx-mob if the text is the. same maybe google is thinking it's a duplicate...
