Editing permissions or Roles

Hey Paul

Have you guys ever put any thought into letting us let others be able to edit certain pages?

Like if you create a restaurant site and you want to let your client edit certain parts of the site or page, like a menu page... They could do this with the help of say something like a client user app. go in and make changes to the menu page anytime they wanted to of course without disturbing anything else...

Hope I explained it well enough!

thx
Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes we have thought about it and are looking into developing a feature like this.

Thanks!

Has my vote. That would ease the workload when the client has recurring updates and save them a bunch of money.

Has my vote too. The ability to have co-editors with limited rights (only content, not layout) for the site content would be fine. :-) I think there are two (may-be more) possibilities:
- possibility to set place holders for text and pictures on the master page - then have master password for access to master pages and other password with only access to regular pages where the content of the place holders can be changed without the ability to change their size or position
- a second app that can access (with username and password) the webpages and change text and pictures of it live, online, without the ability to change their size or position on the page - this app might be a browser plugin as well, sold by Everweb.
