Viewing Image Slider Widget

Image Slider Widget

User: Leandro Z. 6 years ago
I'm back to using EverWeb. (very nice!) However, I am finding it tough to understand why the Image Slider widget is not working properly for me. —After setting up a set of assets in the Image Slider and previewing it, what I specify looks and behaves as specified when I look at it in the browser preview mode, then when I actually publish the web page, and access it on any browser it does not act like the preview. In my case, the picture assets appear stacked one after the next, and the images do nothing when clicked... I've re-launched the program, and reset history on the browsers. I've checked to see if the the other similar widget called Image Gallery works, and it does. the preview version and published version behave identically. I've pressed and checked all the buttons I can, and can't figure it out. Older websites I built using this same widget are all working properly. I'm afraid to tinker with them in case they do the same now. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

When a page design looks OK in Preview mode but doesn't work as planned in the published version you should select "Publish Entire Site" from the EverWeb File menu. Then clear your browser history before visiting the page or open the page in the browser and hit the refresh button a few times.

I'm having the same problem. Preview works fine. Publish Entire Site does NOT work. The same results show. Refreshing browser does not work either.

I did not have this problem with the older version. But now, I have two sites its not working on now. Had to post static picture.

I've had a few people contact me with widget problems which appear to be related to the EverWeb default Image Slider using V2.6.

Can you put your slider on a test page on its own, exclude it from the navigation, publish and post the URL? That way, perhaps the problem will come to light in the source code.

Otherwise, you could revert to EverWeb 2.5 by contacting support and getting a download link.

Thank you for the quick response.

The web page I am using is

http://stockbridgevacation.com

You can see the results there.

I already have Everweb 2.5 and I just paid for an upgrade. Does not make a bunch of sense to downgrade after I just paid for this 64 bit upgrade.

Hi Robby,

Downgrading to 2.5.1 corrects the problem, so it looks like you have a bug in the slider of your latest version. Hopefully you can fix that soon so I can resume using the 64 bit version.

Sincerely,

James

HI,

In order to fix this problem we need to have the project file and the widget you are using so we can test it here.

Please contact customer support so we can help further.

Was this IMAGE SLIDER WIDGET problem resolved?
I just returned to working on my websites and the same frustrating problem happens. As noted earlier last month: —After setting up a set of assets in the Image Slider and previewing it, what I specify looks and behaves as specified when I look at it in the browser preview mode, then when I actually publish the web page, and access it on any browser it does not act like the preview. In my case, the picture assets appear stacked one after the next, and the images do nothing when clicked... I've re-launched the program, and reset history on the browsers.
Your advice would be helpful.
Thanks

Hi Leandro,

I don't think we received a response from you after my last post there.

There is no specific issue with the image slider, likely there is a conflict with a third party widget or third party code you have added to EverWeb.

So if you can send us your project file and let us know which widgets you are using we can track down the issue.

You can test this yourself by creating a blank project and adding the image slider to see if it works for you without using any other widgets.

That is my best guess at the moment without seeing your website online with the issue and without seeing the project file.
