How do I cancel the upgrade that I foolishly downloaded?

| I purchased version 2.3 and it was working fine. I started getting prompts badgering me to upgrade to a new version, and saying that no work would be lost if I did. I finally relented, but I see that that was unwise--- I did not understand that if I upgraded I would be held hostage, unable to publish any changes until I also purchased an extension of my upgrade plan. There was no warning of this. I want to go back to the version that was working perfectly, which I had already paid for. When I attempt to publish, I am now given an option to purchase an upgrade plan or "download earlier version" but when I follow the latter link I do not see an option to download anything but the latest version. And when I follow the instructions elsewhere to navigate to my client area and "My Products and Services," and then click on the link under Everweb Standalone, it appears to be a broken link. (Safari cannot find the server.) How do I just undo this "upgrade" and make it work again? While I might not have objected to purchasing a support contract if the terms had been transparent from the start, I certainly do not want to pay ransom just to get my supposedly non-expiring license to work again. | |

Hi Patrick, I am sorry for any confusion. If you download EverWeb with the instructions below you will be able to publish without any issues. Please note that there are 2 warnings before downloading a version that does not fall within your free year of upgrades and you must explicitly Agree to download the update. You can test this again once you download version 2.3. Also, you can click the 'Skip this Version' if you don't wish to upgrade when the pop-up comes up. Also, if you have not emptied your Trash folder on your computer, EverWeb moves the old update into the trash so you may be able to retrieve it from there. 1. Login to your client area: http://billing.ragesw.com/clientarea.php 2. Click Services->My Services from the navigation bar 3. Click the product listed there (don't click the link that says EWS-XXXXXXX), but the actual product 4. On the left Click Downloads and you will see all versions of EverWeb available to download Again, I apologize for any inconvenience. We do show warnings if the update does not fall within the 1 year of free upgrades. If you have any trouble, please contact customer support and we will send you a direct download for version 2.3 that is the latest version that falls within your update plan.
