Viewing Inaccurate Display of Spaced Text

Inaccurate Display of Spaced Text

User: Les C. 6 years ago
When setting up text into tab or comma separated columns, EW will not accurately display the text once published regardless of selected browser.

In some cases, yes, it is feasible to create multiple text boxes. In others, however, it's a nasty ordeal to create a multitude of independent text boxes that collectively have to vertically and horizontally align.

Unless there is a hidden setting or specialized workaround you can share, please create a fix for this issue.

In web design the easy way to arrange text in columns is to use a table layout. With the fairly recent updates in the EverWeb widget API, tables are now easy to create.

The Data Columns widget was designed specifically for this task.

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having. If you have a sample website URL with the issues we can definitely look into and get it fixed ASAP. Posting a screenshot here (using the Advanced button when posting) to show the differences would be very helpful.

-- Hi Roddy
I have since found a temporary workaround. Using non-breaking spaces seems to do the trick.

I will be reworking some sites in a couple of months time and your widgets look like they will be a real time saver. A question for you: Are there any restrictions using the widgets, such as choice of fonts, or can I use any fonts I like?

Thanks,
LC

--Hi Paul
Thank you for your reply. As I mentioned in my previous post, I found a temporary workaround.

I did contact your tech support department earlier regarding this problem and included screenshots as well as a project file link. Unfortunately, the person handling that particular case was a trainee or similar. Normally, your tech support is pretty good.

I've just submitted another case that also involves a difficulty with displaying text. I haven't used EW much over the last couple of updates. Maybe something changed with those versions that is creating these issues on my end.

For the moment, I feel confident that these snags will be resolved.

Thanks again.

The table widgets use the widget Asssets List to create the table so you can have up to 100 rows.

The font can be web safe or non web safe or Google hosted with a web safe fallback.
