Issues Publishing/Connecting To FTP - Domain Address Not Found

User: Matt M. 6 years ago
Been using Everweb for a couple of years, but have not seen this error/bug yet.

I tried publishing a page, the blue bar was slower than usual, but finished. After that no progress circle showed up. It sat there for a few minutes before a pop up window came up stating:

"An error occurred while publishing your website:

Domain for address not found. Make sure your server address is correct and that you are connected to the Internet.”

I am connected to the internet and have checked that the server address is the same between Everweb and GoDaddy.

I have tried re-publishing a few times and have even re-started my computer. For some reason, Everweb can’t connect to GoDaddy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Matt,

This indicates a problem with the server field in the publish settings for EverWeb.

I recommend you delete all text in there and re-enter your server address.

Are you sure it has not changed?

If you have entered a domain, is the domain name still registered? Does it work in your browser?

If you copy and paste the ftp details in EverWeb to another ftp Client does it work?

If you continue to have issues after doing the above I recommend you get in touch with our customer support so we can try your ftp details from our end and get this fixed ASAP for you.

Sorry for any inconviences.

Nothing has changed in the server field or other settings for a couple of years.

The server address is the same as listed on GoDaddy.

Yes, the domain is registered and the site works fine. Just can’t publish my updates.

Working on version Version 2.1.1 build 1711

Hi Matt,

Did my other suggestions work?

Did you try re-entering all you information?

Did you try another FTP client such as the free http://www.cyberduck.com to see if you are able to connect?

Let me know.

No. I went through settings with GoDaddy and everything is fine on their end. They suggest it’s a bug with the Everweb app. Maybe the version I’m using is outdated. It’s been acting up lately deleting things.

I’ve never used https://cyberduck.io Where is and what Everweb file do you upload?

I am just suggesting that you download it and try to connect with your FTP details that you have in EverWeb in Cyberduck to see if it can connect.

I also recommend you contact customer support so we can try your FTP details and took a closer look.

* Solved *

I tried connecting with Cyberduck, but couldn’t.

Got back with Godaddy and this time they said they had a problem.

Everything is working for now.

Tip: For Mac users who use Godaddy and may be experiencing hosting problems, they recommend using FileZilla ( https://filezilla-project.org )to check connection. I guess they have some connection with it. Idk?

Thanks for your help!
