I have been optimising my mobile site as part of a Google led process and ran into trouble. I'm aware that EW isn't very good at processing images - in the past there were issues with image quality, that seems to have been replaced with image size issues. To avoid making EW do any work, I am trying to avoid scaling images and uploading assets pre-set to the correct dimensions for the web page. However this isn't working - please see image below. Both these images are the same dimensions. One is the source file, the second is the one generated by Everweb for the website. 3 times bigger! Not really good enough... I've never actually tested this out before since I always use widgets to insert images. If you open EverWeb Preferences (command + ,) and go to the Publishing Options, the JPEG Image Quality slider is set to 75% by default. If you import/export your images at that setting, the file sizes remain the same.
