EverWeb Secure Shield

User: Yelena 6 years ago
Hello, does this Shield work on all websites I might have or only one site?

Thank you!

Hi Yelena,

EverWeb site shield applies to all domains on each hosting plan you have. So if all your domains are add-ons in one hosting account, the EverWeb Site Shield will work on all of them.

Hope this clears things up.

What if I publish some of the websites via FTP to another server and some to EverWeb? Does that make a difference? I assume it doesn't but want to be sure....

Hi Yelena.

I am not exactly sure with what you are doing so I am not sure if everything I say will be correct.

If you publish your website files to another server (example another domain) you'll need an SSL certificate for the other server/domain.

But your EverWeb site will be secure on the domain you are publishing to with us.

Ok, so it will only work with websites that are published to EverWeb but not the ones that are created with EW but published to another server....Correct?

Hi Yelena -

EverWeb is a website development tool used to make a website and it can be hosted wherever you want. If you host on EverWeb's servers there are some extra things that can be done because they are supported on the EverWeb back end (servers) but not in the application itself. One of those is HTTPS. The hosting company has to provide the secure certificate, not the application. Almost all hosting companies do that. The difference with EW is they will do all the hard work of setting it up and maintaining the certificate. That was one reason I moved my EW produced sites from GoDaddy to EW. Great uptime, super tech support and "no worries". (No, I don't work for them :-)
