Viewing Image Slider widget ( Everweb )

Image Slider widget ( Everweb )

User: Simon C. 6 years ago
I like all of the attributes of this slider, caption, url, nav arrows etc but the one drawback seems to be that it won't swipe on an iPad pro, or for that matter, any tablet.

I know I'm being picky but can anyone help ?

My dream image slider widget... ( a moon on a stick would be nice, any moon would do )

Ability to swipe on a tablet

Nav arrows outside the image area, preferably on the same side so that the viewer doesn't have to mouse the cursor across large images. ( editable positioning )

Pause / play options, also outside the image area ( I can get around a lot of this by giving images a key line and then expanding the canvas in a colour which matches the page background, but it's time consuming.

I used Wow Slider before but I'm not a fan of pain in my bottom and virtually all of the templates have nav arrows inside the frame, with pause / play icons in the middle of the image, madness.

Option for film strip dots.

Editable thumbnail sizes

URL, description and alt tagging

Roddy to do everything for me

Transition and effect duration options and timings

Hmmmm, should have paid more attention in skool.

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received .

Hi, Simon!

Some of the things you're asking for were already requested but there are also some new ideas. Thank you for sharing them with us!
I'll forward them to our developers and maybe we will see the image slider improved in the future updates.

By the way, the duration of transitions is already customizable. Select a widget and go to Inspector > Widget Settings. Scroll down a bit till you see Slideshow Speed and Transition Speed settings. You can change the transition type there too.

Galleria has a swipe option but it is set to false in the widget. The option can be set to true or 'auto'. There is also an option for 'enforced' which enables a swipe-like interface on desktop as well. However, this didn't work for me and perhaps required a later version of the Galleria script.

This is probably something the deveopers should implement. In the meantime, if you contact me I will send you a modified widget. Let me know if you prefer a control for selecting the options or just need swipe set to true or 'auto'.

Do you mean pager dots?

If you are using thumbnail navigation, it's bit of overkill to have arrows and/or pager dots as well.

Hello everyone, not sure whether my question has been posted - it seems to have been lost (sorry for double-posting just in case):
I am struggling with the image slider widget. I am trying to place a full-screen-width image slider in the place where they now have the skyline picture in this theme here: http://www.everwebapp.com/georgina/index.html
I have two questions:
- the caption of this image slider should then be where it now says "ALIQUAM IPSUM DOLOR>>", but I cannot align the text in my caption so that it sits exactly in the same place as Aliquam ipsum dolor. I can set "caption left = 0" so that the colored background of the caption text covers the full width of the image and screen, but the text cannot be aligned - is that correct?
- independently of that I wonder whether I can use an image as the browser background, i.e. changing images as a browser background. But also in that case I would have to be able to freely locate the caption text wherever I want.

Any suggestions on how to work my way around that would be much appreciated.
Thanks and kind regards

Dorothea
