Email forwarders...

User: Darren R. 6 years ago
I've set up my domain emails to forward to Gmail in a effort to cut out all the spam -this is working nicely.

Is it possible to delete the original emails left in the domain inbox once it has forwarded to gmail? Or do I have to log in every now and then to delete them manually?

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi, Daz!

It's a good question, actually.

The easiest way would be occasionally checking your email and deleting everything from there. Given all emails are rerouted to your Gmail mailbox, you don't have to carefully check which emails can be deleted and which are not. Simply delete them all.

There is another way although I never used it myself so I'm not sure how will it work. But you could test, maybe it will work just perfect for you.

Go to your webmail (type in yourdomain.com/webmail to get there). You need to select Horde service when it asks you to select the display mode. Then on the top right corner click on enquiries@delilahs.net > Manage Disk Usage. In the new window next to the INBOX you can delete rules for auto-deleting of your emails. Try different modes (there is one that presumably deletes the email right after it gets to your inbox) and see how they work. Like I said before, I haven't tested it myself so you need to see it yourself. But I hope it will help you.

If you are publishing to a server other than the EverWeb one, setting up mail as a forward - rather than a mailbox - does the trick.
