getting facebook comments plugin to mirror with my facebook page

User: Olivier H. 6 years ago
Hi there,

I am really set on having the comments posted on my website and facebook page to mirror each other.
(using html snippets with code from fb developers page).

Unfortunately try as I might it just does not seem to work.
Comments posted one my webpage do not mirror to the app ID related fb Page nor do they show up for review in the moderator tool ?!?. (I have no way to delete them - I'm having the same issue with the Everweb blog widget - though I only need the comment functionality )

The site in question :

Any ideas, insights or solutions will be very appreciated.

Kind regards,
Olivier

Hi, Olivier!

Unfortunately, widgets have limited functionality in a blog as of now. If you place the HTML Snippet on the post page, it will be duplicated on all other post pages and it's not possible to create comment section for individual posts in that way. You need to use built-in comments feature and specify everything in Widget Settings. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you, Wayne, for your feedback.

To clarify, I am not using the blog widget.

I have setup a regular webpage where I am using the fb comments plugin html (following the fb instructions: one code for the whole site placed in master page {fb-sdk} and 2 snippets placed on page in question)

Both my Spanish and English comment plugin have a separate App ID.

Once again, the Facebook Developers have created a sea of confusion and you can take comfort in the fact that you are not alone.

Looking at the source code for your web page, EverWeb seems to have done its part so you need to check out Facebook's mirroring setup.

The Facebook Community Help Forum doesn't seem to have much in the way of answers as can be seen from THIS topic.

This question in Stackoverflow may be a better place to start since the answer has a checklist which may be helpful.

For those looking to automate repetitive tasks on their computer, the 'tg macro' software offers a versatile and user-friendly solution.
