More graceful handling of image files that contain accented characters in the file name

I'd like to see Everweb be a little more proactive about handling imported images that contain accented characters in the filename. Example: I recently dropped an image onto a page with the file name: Android Pietà.jpg I then linked this image to a second image file to be opened in a popup window: Android Pietà-large.jpg After publishing this page, the image would not display and the popup yielded a 404 error. The fix, of course, was to change the filename by replacing the accented character with an unaccented character. Still, I think Everweb should handle the condition a little better, either by generating a (fixable?) warning or generating appropriate HTML that will not result in a 404 error. Thanks! |
