Viewing Images

Hey!

I'm not quite sure how exactly EverWeb handles images, but here is how I wish it was:

I drag an image to EverWeb, I resize it, rotate it or do whatever needs to be done to it.
When I publish my page, EverWeb resizes the image and and optimises it for the web, and if the resolution allows, also creates a 2x version for retina displays without me having to think about it.

Furthermore, it would be great that when you resize an image, the frame (or other indicator) changes colour:
Green: resolution is good for current size in both regular and 2x
Yellow: resolution is good for current size in normal resolution but not for 2x
Red: Resolution is not enough for current size.

And lastly, It would be fantastic if you could do basic colour/image correction within EverWeb like you could in iWeb. And Instant alpha etc would be nice too!

Maybe an option to publish text as an image if not already possible too!

Guess that's it for now :)

Hi Damon,

Thanks for the great suggestions!

Yes, EverWeb optimizes your images and if possible it will generate the retina images for you automatically.

Your suggestion to put an indicator to make sure EverWeb can generate the image properly is a great idea!

We are also working on the image manipulation options for a future version.

This is already possible under Inspector->Text options. There is a checkbox to apply this option to a text object.
