Viewing Autostart Movies
Autostart Movies

It's been a while since I built my website (gartside.co.uk), at the time I added an auto start movie which seems to works reasonably well as an m4v in Safari but not in other formats or browsers. I was told at the time it was likely that it was the autostart that was a problem and there wasn't much that could be done. I'm not a website designer or computer guru, my expertise is in property, so I don't get to keep up with changes and developments, so just thought I'd pop by to see if anything has changed. |

You need to use the MP4 format for the video to work in all modern browsers. Note that the video won't autoplay in mobile devices like the iPad and iPhone. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Sorry, I'm a bit confused, I'm using the video wiedget to insert movies, it says I should use different formats for different browsers which I have done, should I be doing something differently. | |

It's a bit outdated. You only need an MP4 file and don't require an OGG or flash fallback unless you need to support very old browsers.
