Hi guys,

I haven't posted for a while, I'm very happy with the new ever web, Paul you and the guys have done a really good job!.

I have a problem that maybe someone in the community has managed to work around. I have a website which includes mobile page alternatives however I'm now getting poor reports and errors from google webmaster tools for the blog pages. I haven't managed to make a mobile version for the blog and have no idea how to do this.

To be honest i am looking at re designing the site to be totally responsive (eliminating the need for page alternatives for other devices).

Has anyone managed to accomplish this in EW yet? if so how?.

Its nice to be back.

It is possible to build a fully responsive site using the Flex widgets but the design options are limited since all the content - apart from the header/navigation - need to be contained in on widget. The amount of content is restricted due to the limitation imposed by the widget settings panel height.

I am creating a new website - EverWeb Widgets - which will solve quite a few problems with regard to responsiveness.

I still think it is more practical for EverWeb users to create two versions of the site. Get the “Full Width” look for the full site by using the Hero widgets in combination with responsive ones like the new Gallery widgets which include a footer. This allows the full site to be responsive down to the width of an iPad in portrait mode.

A fully responsive version of the mobile site can be created using the new Mobile Elements and Mobile Container widgets. This will fill the screens of the largest mobile phones in landscape mode and be responsive down to the width of the smallest iPhone in portrait mode.

There are widgets for creating a fully responsive Blog and Podcast. Note that these should not be confused with the EverWeb blogging system. They are completely different.

They lack some features of the EverWeb blog but add quite a few more such as search, archive menu, subscription signup and the Photo Entry widget which allows a slideshow suitable for mobile use in a blog post. This should be more appropriate for photographers when combined with the Blog Entries Responsive Grid. Video can be added using one of the Videocast widgets in the Podcast section.
