Long empty space at bottom of all Blog related pages…

Space not there before I did the following on jamescraigphotogarphy.com:

1- Blog had well over 400 postings and additions became very slow so I created a second blog to the exact same specs.

2- I made the new blog the home page

3- I duplicated the header used and changed that one to match what I needed.

4- put a link on my new archive page to the archive page for the first blog to connect them.

No other changes, settings etc. But now all blog related pages, both of them including index and archives, have that huge space at the bottom. This happened BEFORE I experimented by adding the FaceBook Comments section on the new blog only postings. Is it because there are "actually" 2 blogs? Any way to get rid of this at this point?

Oh, and the index (blog main page) on the old blog disappeared when I set it on 0 postings since I'll not be using that page - no way to get that back?

Otherwise this worked well.

HI James

I've been able to reproduce the problem with making blog main at zero posts by entering zero as the number to display. Yes, the widget vanishes. To get it back, I just went to posts and added a new post and then went back to the blog main. This seems to reset the number of entries to display at 10 again. The slider only allows you to go down to '1' but if you manually enter '0' you get the problem. I can report this to the Support guys...

I have not seen the problem with lots of space at the bottom of the widget so will try to test that out for you. The only thing I have found so far is that if you have full archive displayed in blog main the space between posts and the full archive text gets reduced.

Hope that helps, I'll try to do some testing over the weekend!

Hi James

I tried again with my workaround but it didn't work around! If I think of other options I'll post back!

I seem to have done a big oops there, and waited too long to go for a restore because I didn't notice the long empty spaces right away - they seem to have to come from that because I've checked everything else. Lots of things to work around right now in blog, but everything else seems manageable awaiting a major update. Since this "blog" is sort of closed, if there weren't 420 or so entries in it, I'd simply make a third blog and copy/paste entry content over, resetting main image, etc. Maybe something to do if I get the flu and can't do anything else. I wish I could test from here if simply having two blogs does the space thing when uploaded but NOT on my work space. Thanks for trying.

Hi james

I actually have a website where I am running two blogs and I don't get the problem with spacing. I think that before EW 2.1.1 there was a lot of space in blog main/archives, but that's been sorted out in the update.

This is a plain long space below all blog entries, the main page and the archive page. I've checked that there's nothing on the header page. None of this shows up on the work space at all, just on line - in any browser and on iPad. So something in the blog code must be mandating it - odd that it's both postings and index+archive, everything has its own settings. Boggles the mind why it might be related to the missing index but I don't like coincidences - and they came about at the same time.
