How can I make a member's area on my EW site?

I've been using EW for nearly two years and I really love it, made my life much easier and my site more free and beautiful. So, thank you very much for that :) Now, here's my new idea on my site. I'd like to have a free area and a member's area. In the latter, members will be signing in with their username and own password, after paying a monthly fee (it's an idea and maybe can change). How can I create on EW a mask or something and the members log in from there and see the restricted material non members won't be able to see? Thanks in advance for your response :-) |

Hi Dimitris, Thanks for your warm feedback about EverWeb! :) I believe that the Password Protection feature can suit your needs. Here is a video tutorial how to use this feature in EverWeb: http://www.everwebapp.com/support/video-tutorials/password-protection.html Please note, that in order to use the Password Protection feature, you need to have an EverWeb hosting account because this feature is implemented on the server side. Hmmm, even if I was hosted in EW, it would still not be convenient. How would one manage so many members? Did I get it wrong or actually for each member, its username and password would have to be put on the field I saw on the video you proposed? | |

I have similar question, can user register by themselves over the internet? it is bit annoying every time I have to create user account myself.

Hi Yuanbo, Right now it wouldn't be possible with the current features in EverWeb without your own scripting, but it is something we are working on! ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
