Viewing Dropbox = altered dimensions and missing widgets

Dropbox = altered dimensions and missing widgets

User: M M. 8 years ago
I just began using dropbox so I can edit my site on both my 13" laptop (where I first created my site) and my 21" desktop. When I open the site on my desktop, the dimensions of my videos (youtube and vimeo), contact form, and twitter follow me forms are totally off. They're enlarged, overlapping over other objects and text.

I've tried deleting the html code and then repasting it on a few pages, and while this works in fixing the enlarged dimensions, it results in an empty preview box. The code is there, but the video screenshot that would normally appear on the page in everweb is gone, on both the desktop and laptop.

Additionally, third party widgets that I purchased do not appear on the widgets tab on my desktop, only on my laptop (where I originally purchased and used them). Any third party widget I've already used still works, but the package of widgets no longer comes up on the widget page, so I can't drag and drop my purchased widgets on another page, if I so desired.

All of this is in everweb. Nothing on the site itself has changed because I haven't attempted to publish. So far, everything looks normal when I preview it, but it's totally off when working in everweb.

Any advice?

HI,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

The issue with the objects being too large is because one of your computers has a retina screen and the other one has a normal screen.

Make sure you are using EverWeb 1.9.6 as it improves using EverWeb in this way.

As for the widgets you purchased you would have to install them on both computers.

Hi, this is a follow up from my previous issue (posted above) which is still occurring. I would really like the flexibility of working on my site on both my normal screen desktop and my retina screen laptop without object distortions within EverWeb (I still don't know if it would affect the website itself because I'm afraid to publish from the desktop). Is there any remedy? Do I need to rebuild the site from the desktop? Is this something that will be address in an update? I'm currently using ver. 2.1.1 on both.

Hi,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

The problem is when you move from a retina to a non retina screen you may get these issues. However, when you publish your website will look fine. It I sonly drawn improperly in EverWeb.

Also, if you make a small adjustment to the object it will refresh properly. You should only see this issue with the custom widgets.

We have a developer working on this right now though.
