Basic HTML goodies

Hi,

I may have asked about this before, but I really miss some basic HTML options.

Mostly - for me - these are :

Table design
It would be nice of we had an option to create a table. This is very useful for creating lists or descriptions or even page layout which you want to be the same across various pages. I know there are options with DIV's and such, but sometimes you just need a simple table to present info or figures.

Bulleted, Ordered and Unordered Lists
One of the most used features in HTML is still the way to create bulleted, ordered or unordered lists and there's no way whatsoever in EW to do this, other then create HTML code with the text you want, which makes editing things on the page itself cumbersome.

Can you please try to add these on short notice ?

The Touch Device List widget can create lists with a choice of list style types and position.

The Table widget has been created to allow its width to be quickly adjusted for all three different versions of the website. It can have an optional styled head and zebra striping.

Roddy,

Does your widget offer me the table at design time, so I can enter data in it as I please ?

If you mean can you insert the data on the design canvas then the answer is no. Like all widgets, the data is entered into the widget settings panel and appears on the design canvas.

*BUMP*

I am still in need for this table option to be added. I tried everything down to dirty HTML inserts, but it remains a dodgy way to do something as simple as a friggin' table layout.

Table layouts aren't actually that simple and can be time consuming even when creating them in an app like Keynote.

Creating them with HTML can be confusing if there is a lot of content but this can be made a lot easier using data attributes.

Using a responsive design allows the table to be copied to the tablet and smart phone versions of the site without having to redesign it. Here's a demo with code examples.

If you don't have a dedicated code editor, use Text Edit in plain text mode to add the table data to the HTML.

Having tables in Everweb would be nice. And bullet-lists in the regular Everweb textbox would be very nice too.
