Publishing to a local folder deactivated when current account expires?

User: Stuart C. 9 years ago
I cant find the answer to this anywhere and it looks as if my version (1,7) of the software that I purchased wont allow me to publish except to an active account with Everweb.

My software lapsed at the end end of January and when I went back earlier this week to rebuild my website and FTP to my local web hosting service, I am no longer able to do so - the local folder option is not available.

Any advice appreciated, thank you.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem: I'm not allowed to publish my website to a local folder, since my account has expired.
I'm actually keen to renew my support and upgrade plan, but I wanted to wait just a couple of month. I thought, I might still actively use EverWeb...
I would be glad to get your assistance!

Hi Julius,

If you used the Check for Update feature in EverWeb it will warn you that the update is not free for you.

Anyways, you can redownload the version that falls under your one year of upgrades in your client area.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem. My license is expired but I can't publish locally. I don't really understand why this is happening. I thought the standalone license is unrestricted in this regard. Why does it need to phone home all the time? What happens if your servers ever go down? What happens if they go down for good?

Perhaps you updated to a new version which isn't covered by your license?

Hi Daniel,

Your license is unrestricted and you can use the version you purchased plus one year of updates forever. It is only the upgrades after that, that you must pay for. If you are on a hosting a plan you get all updates as long as your account is active.

EverWeb doesn't always verify your license with our servers. If the servers were to go down, the software has cached licensing info on your computer.

Publishing to a local folder deactivated when current account expires?

I cant find the answer to this anywhere and it looks as if my version (1,8) of the software that I purchased (permanent licence) wont allow me to publish except to an active account with Everweb.

I want to rebuild my website and FTP to my local web hosting service, I am no longer able to do so - the local folder option is not available.

Any advice appreciated, thank you.

Hi Francoise,

To publish, please verify you're using the eligible version for your plan. Check by going to EverWeb > About EverWeb.

If you're using the correct version, kindly open a support ticket for us to assist you.
