Banner Zest galleries

User: Kevin H. 9 years ago
Hi

Can anyone help with using Banner Zest galleries with Ever Web. I am having trouble because my site is hosted with Rage using Ever Web one click publishing, this does not allow me to upload my external banners to the Rage server without the access info. Rage are working on a tutorial, but this seems to be taking ages. I would like to overcome this problem sooner if possible.

Thanks guys.

I haven't used BannerZest for a long time - not since Apple made flash obsolete - and I haven't bothered with the latest version since the HTML5 output was rather disappointing.

BannerZest has the same problems as other drag and drop "super" sliders like Wow in that the file structure of the resulting output is kind of complicated and you really need to upload the whole folder to the server and reference the bz.html file in an iframe.

Hi Roddy

Thanks for response. Sorry about posting twice, thought I used the wrong group for the thread.
I am afraid your answer has gone over my head quite a bit, but thanks for help. I am pulling my hair out with this. I spoke to both Everweb (Rage) and Banner Zest before purchasing both Apps and neither of them gave any indication of the complexity to get them to work together. Very frustrating. I really like the banners that Banner Zest offer, especially as it is for a photography website. I guess I will have to wait as long as it takes for Rage to release a tutorial. Thanks again.

The embed code for a BannerZest project is really simple and just needs pasted into an HTML Snippet. The problem is that you need to upload the folder with the bzLoader.js to a server.

Here's and EXAMPLE in EW with the code show below the BannerZest thing.

The problem with BannerZest, as Roddy has expressed in his first post, is that it creates a lot of files that need to be uploaded to the correct location on a server.

It was my assumption that the integration would be much simpler. However, that was before we got full access to BannerZest. It has proven to be more complicated. While we were working on the tutorial, we realized that to make it easier, we would have to add some features to EverWeb.

As mentioned by Roddy, what is needed is a way to publish entire folders to your EverWeb account. We realize the importance of this and want to get it implemented as soon as possible. Unfortunately we have a lot of features to implement already so it won't be available within the next few months.

I do apologize for providing the wrong information. If you would like a refund Kevin, we can arrange that for you. Please respond to the ticket you sent in.

Alternatively there is probably a way to do it by hosting some files on a free dropbox account. If another user would like to provide instructions on how to do that, I think it would be useful to the community. Right now, we don't have the full resources to create a proper tutorial for it.
